When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor’s world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she’s never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century’s worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life – a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually exist. And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance.

Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves – a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives.

Plot 5 of 5

I really loved this book! So many little details had such large significance! Like one of the musicians mentioned in passing? He ends up playing a huge roll later on. I loved going back and reading about all the different time periods. I loved the subplots about Michele’s family—whether her mysterious father, or one of her female ancestors(who I mention below.). My only complaint is that while Timeless can stand on its own, it has a huge cliffhanger. Fortunately for us, the sequel comes out next month—keep an eye out for my review come January!

Characters 5 of 5

All of the characters were so lovable! I loved Michele. She was so strong. Instead of whining when her man is in danger, she does something about it. Not that is a girl I’d want to be friends with! And Philip!!! *sigh* He was so dreamy and eloquent and moral! (And hot! Can’t forgot about that.) I loved him! I loved how he and Michele had something they could share together–their music; they had a reason for liking each other besides lust. Though I do think he got a little wimpy after… Well, I can’t spoil it, but I wanted to yell at him at one point “Pull yourself together, man!”

I also loved reading about Michele’s ancestors! Lily, Stella, and Clara were each so special—all were unique and all stole my heart.

Setting 5 of 5

I’m really picky about settings and rarely give out fives. Everything was so well described, I felt like I was there! And I was so shocked to read in the afternote that the Windsor mansion was based on a few of the Vanderbilt buildings! I got to go to one of the those (not sure if it is the one she visited) a few years back and was picturing the Biltmore Estate when she described the mansion! That made the novel ten times more awesome, knowing that Michele “lived” in a place I had been to!

I purchased Timeless with my own money.
