Hey all, it’s Alexa, and no, I am not going to explain that tagline, lol. You’re just going to have to, one, figure it out for yourself or, two, read the book, which just so happens to be wicked awesome and therefore worth reading even if you do decipher what my tagline even means. 😉

infinity

Description:

Title: Infinity

Author: Jus Accardo

Release Day: November 1, 2016

Genre: YA Sci-Fi

There are three things Kori knows for sure about her life:

One: Her army general dad is insanely overprotective.

Two: The guy he sent to watch her, Cade, is way too good-looking.

Three: Everything she knew was a lie.

Now there are three things Kori never knew about her life:

One: There’s a device that allows her to jump dimensions.

Two: Cade’s got a lethal secret.

Three: Someone wants her dead.

Plot:

This story was one-of-a-kind incredible. Instead of a breakneck, uber-intense, WHAT THE HECK speed (which is awesome in its own right), Infinity was more evenly paced, a careful crumb-dropping of info that just made me ravenous for more. Something dangerous was definitely afoot and my cat-killing curiosity piqued: I wanted to know what in the worlds was going on.

And that feeling only got stronger. As the story escalated, questions answered only as more were introduced, and the problems and stakes shot higher, all I wanted was to curl up somewhere comfy and devour the entire story because I needed to know the things, lol. Powerfully paced and perfectly worded, Infinity had me from intriguing start to striking finish.

Plot: 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

Characters:

From hurting and hungry Noah, to serious, soldier-boy Cade, to fierce, flawed, firecracker Kori, each of these characters was deep and difficult and complicated, searching for something and hurting from something, dealing in their own different ways. They were both real and understandable: I got every action, even when I screamed at the character for taking it. In my own way, I felt for them—didn’t love them unfortunately, but that wasn’t the fault of the book at all, just the fact that not every story is going to connect with every reader in the most complete way. However, I can say that these are some fantastically written charries and they just may be the ones you fall head over heels for.

Characters: 4 stars out of 5.

Writing Style/Setting:

There really isn’t a lot of solid setting here because of all the running around (trying to stop a dimension-phasing psycho from killing you doesn’t exactly leave much time for one to admire the scenery), however the pieces with the main worldbuilding were all fairly good.

Also, the writing was perfect for the story: full of Kori’s straightforward, strong, soldier-girl-whether-or-not-she-realized-it voice, and because of that amazing writing and strong personality, I felt the emotions directly. There’s one scene in particular where a thing happens and there’s a chase and a fight, and I literally felt the fear myself; I had to stop and breathe a moment before continuing.

That’s some powerful writing right there.

Writing Style/Setting: 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

And we so come in right about 4 1/2 stars out of 5. I very much enjoyed Infinityit was an epic tale with several strong character journeys and deep, intense writing. If you’d like to pick up a copy for yourself, you can find it on Amazon (UK and Canada links), Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Kobo, and Entangled Publishing.

So any wibbly-wobbly, dimension-phasing books been on your list lately? Can’t wait to hear from you all, and I will see you in the comment section!

~ Love, Alexa <3
